The boat glides over the surface

and seagulls expand their lungs

as the waves of heat swell.

My arms are ropes used to reign

the hulls into surrender.

I am the captain of this ship.

There is blue and white everywhere,

when I close my eyes, when I look

at the sky,

forgetting my name and why I began…

Mirages of sand-soaked land

send me into a tizzy.
